LXF Series Mineral Oil Centrifugal Separator
Application
Disc centrifuges for mineral oil are primarily used for the purification of marine or land-based mineral oil products. The main application areas include: marine diesel treatment, marine heavy fuel oil treatment, marine lubricating oil treatment, land-based power station lubricating oil treatment, engine test oil treatment, gas turbine oil treatment, and crude oil treatment. They are mainly used to remove water and solid particles (oil sludge) from mineral oils. The purified oil and separated water are continuously discharged, while the oil sludge is discharged at set intervals. The device consists of an inlet/outlet system, frame, bowl, vertical shaft system, coupling, and water distribution system.
Working Principle
In a gravity or centrifugal force field, immiscible light and heavy liquid phases and solid phases with different densities experience different forces, leading to separation and stratification. This process is known as gravity separation in a gravity field and centrifugal separation in a centrifugal force field. The oil to be treated enters the bowl through the inlet pipe, and the distributor directs the oil to the outer periphery of the bowl. Upon reaching the distribution holes, the untreated oil rises through the channels formed by the arc-shaped holes at the edge of the disc stack and is evenly distributed into the disc stack. As the oil flows towards the center of the bowl, it is continuously separated from water and oil sludge. Upon exiting the disc stack, the purified oil rises and enters the centripetal pump chamber. The oil is then drawn out of the centripetal pump chamber by the centripetal pump and exits the bowl through the outlet. The separated water and oil sludge move towards the outer periphery of the separator bowl. During purification, the separated water rises along the outside of the disc stack, passes through the channels above the disc cover and the holes in the bowl cover, enters the heavy-phase pump chamber, and is pumped out by the heavy-phase gear pump. Heavier impurities accumulate in the sludge space outside the disc stack and are discharged from the sludge outlet at set time intervals (based on the sludge content). Through this working cycle, one operational loop is completed. After multiple cycles of treatment, water and impurities in the oil can be rapidly removed to meet customer requirements.
